Isle of Wight Festival

My last post was about wanting to veggie, well I didn't in the end. Still an Anti-Factory Farming animal activist though.

So last weekend I went to the Isle of Wight Festival. On the Friday night the acts weren't my cup of tea and I hadn't heard of any of them prior to the festival. As typical of the British summer it bucketed it down with rain and my boyfriend, friends and I all went home early because we were absolutely drenched even in raincoats!

We weren't camping at the festival because we reside on the island so we went back on Saturday. On the Friday night I'd eaten fried chicken with chips which were quite greasy so on the second night I shared a pepperoni pizza with my boyfriend. I insisted we do half & half but because he is such a gentleman he bought it for us. The headline act on Saturday was Pharrell Williams, he put the audience in a dancing mood and his performance was amazing. He had an act with him that consisted of female Hip-Hop dancers and singers. I loved it when the girls performed Gwen Stefani's 'Hollaback Girl'. The only song he performed that I didn't like was "Blurred Lines", while the rest of the audience sang and danced to it I kept silent. I dislike the song because of its sexist content. I didn't want to stop everyone else enjoying themselves and its my personal opinion, its like if I'd turned veggie I wouldn't stop everyone else in McDonalds eating factory farmed beef. Of course I did love his performance of his signature hit 'Happy'.

By Sunday, I didn't want the festival to be over. I spent the last of my money on the fairground rides. The ones I rode were very fast and a bit scary. For my dinner I had a hoisin duck pancake with chips and for dessert I bought a very hard mini tub of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough. The headline act were Fleetwood Mac and they were fantastic. My favourite song they performed was 'The Chain'.

Overall the festival was excellent. I can't wait for the Isle of Wight Festival 2016 but I'm going to The Bestival in September which will be equally as exciting. I just hope they have thrilling rides and beautiful food along with great music at The Bestival too.
