An Early Xmassy Weekend

So yesterday I was very fortunate enough to go to the annual Portsmouth Dockyard Christmas Market with some friends.

I had been excited about it for some weeks, I was excited to buy presents, spend the weekend with my friends, buy presents for my loved ones and see the beginning of Christmas. But when the weather forecast told me rain was predicted this weekend, I worried the rain would ruin the day however I managed to buy an umbrella from the local Co-Op the day before.

For my breakfast on Saturday morning I had hearty dried apricots, back bacon, poached egg, wholemeal low-fat buttered toast, orange juice and a slice of a Linda McCartney vegetarian sausage that I tried for the first time. It was all lovely and I couldn't wait to get going. I decided to wear my penguin earrings, Primark Xmas jumper, Xmas woolly leggings, brown shorts, black high heel faux leather boots and headband with bobbly snowmen.

We took the Hovercraft to the mainland from Ryde, Isle of Wight and got on a bus from Southsea to Portsmouth dockyard. When we walked into the market there were re-enactors dressed in Victorian clothing including Victorian policemen. I took a photograph of one of the Historical warships and then went off to look at the stalls.

I won't put exactly what I bought as they were all presents for other people I know who may be reading this blog!

Being a foodie, my favourite stalls were the food stalls that offered free samples of cheeses and sauces. I tried 8 types of Curry sauce before making a purchase and different types of cheddar cheese before purchasing smoked cheddar. I even tried some delicious marshmallows that were made from natural ingredients, guess that makes them Organic Marshmallows :) . Just as long as the gelatine was free range or non-animal even, then that makes them organic I guess.

It began to rain around lunchtime so we ate our packed lunch under a bit of shelter by The Mary Rose Museum. I laughed and chatted with my friends as we ate our sandwiches. I hoped the rain would stop but even after I'd had my lunch it hadn't stopped. So I collected a gift and bought another before making our way back to the Hovercraft.

Once back on the island we went to the garden centre BusyBee. In BusyBee I managed to purchase some more presents for my relatives, including a slice of marzipan covered fruitcake and some cute robin wrapping paper for the gifts to be wrapped in.

After a spot of shopping in BusyBee, went to McDonalds for our dinner and I had 5 chicken selects with BBQ and Sour Cream & Chive dips with chips, cheesy bites and a chocolate milkshake. *whispers* McDonalds is my guilty pleasure.

That evening I relaxed in a bath with a Christmas inspired bath bomb before watching XFactor and I'm A Celebrity on television.

Today I went to Chocolate Island, Godshill where I shared a chocolate tapas with a friend,  which consisted of shortbread, fruit, chocolate truffles, ice cream, marshmallows and churros to dip in melted chocolate. There was one pot of milk chocolate and another of white. I bought two gifts from the shop there and went home feeling happy.

Positive Journal

There is a moving picture of me!

Yes, thats one of my few YouTube videos. My channel has very few subscribers so I'd be extremely grateful if I had more. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS02qvITnXoM24FXuHu85Tw

In this video I talk about my new positive journal.

I've been feeling a bit stressed lately with academic pressure, the weather and what not. So to combat my stress I decided to go out and buy a notebook. I was with my lovely mum and we saw one in the shop Tiger. It was quite basic looking so my mum suggested I decorate it. However when I started using it I realised it looked like an arty object using recycled materials.

I haven't wrote loads in there yet, but I've wrote about how festive it looked around town yesterday and made me feel all festive. I've also wrote about how excited I am for the Christmas market in Portsmouth next week that I shall be visiting with some friends. Hopefully you'll hear all about how fantastic it's gonna be.

I went last year and they had an outdoor cinema screening a Frozen sing-a-long. I think I did literally freeze and just like Anna I was safe even after becoming icy!

To be honest I've grown a bit tired of the Frozen merchandise since then. Its absolutely everywhere. Little children all over from Kim Kardashian's daughter to girls I saw at Disneyland Paris are dressing up as Elsa or Anna. Brave was far more realistic in terms of morals but not once have I seen a little dressed up as Merida!

Anyway, if you think a positive journal is for you. Just pop to you're local Tiger, WHSmiths, Stationary store or supermarket to buy a notepad of you're choice. It can be any size and can have any front cover design. The important thing is it helps you combat stress and you have somewhere where you can feel happy.
