The Most Left-Wing Kids Movie Ever: Robots

Ah Robots, the movie of my childhood. Its got to be the most Socialist children's film ever, I mean come on Rodney the Socialist leads a rebellion against Ratchet the Capitalist Fascist.

Rodney Copperbottom a Working Class Robot aspires to be like his hero Bigweld who improves the lives of Robots from around the world. When Rodney was born he was built by his parents, I like to think that sex and reproduction does exist in the robot Universe but Rodney was a robot version of an IVF baby.   Rodney grows up wanting to be an inventor like Bigweld and so travels to Bigweld Industries which is in Robot City. But when he arrives at Bigweld Indsutries he finds out that the company has been overtaken by Ratchet who is a vain snobbish capitalist fascist. The only female who works with Ratchet is Cappy a sexy robot who is very much a member of the Nouveau riche. She reminds me of a Bond girl and Ratchet reminds me of a Bond villain.

Rodney finds a place to stay, Aunt Fanny's Boarding House where his new friend Fender lives with other economically deprived bots including Fender's teenage sister Piper. Fender is hyperactive, isn't always socially appropriate and struggles with taking care of himself. This makes me think he has ADHD and is somewhere on the Autistic spectrum but quite moderately or at least has Moderate Learning Difficulties. I also believe that Rodney could be on the Autistic spectrum but at the high-functiong to milder end like myself.

At the end of the movie Rodney, Cappy, Bigweld and the rusties start a revolt against Ratchet and Ratchet's evil mother Madam Gasket. Ratchet and Gasket are defeated. Gasket dies while Ratchet's upgrades are smashed which leaves him Nouveau poor.

At the end of the movie Rodney's dad's dream of becoming a jazz musician becomes true and Bigweld announces that Rodney is the heir to Bigweld Industries. At the end of the movie it is revealed that Rodney and Cappy, Fender and Loretta, Fanny and Bigweld are all couples.

Robots should win an award for the children's movie with the most morals and themes I mean there is IVF, Social Class Warfare, Inequality, Socialism, Fascism, Capitalism, Learning Disabilities, Sexism, eating disorders and cross dressing. I think Fender was definitely a closet cross dresser  because when he wore a woman's skirt at the end of the film he didn't care the slightest bit and I thought he looked a lot happier. Cappy was the only female employed by Ratchet and because he had a massive crush on her but in a creepy way, I think he only employed her because she was a good-looking female. Cappy looks as though Ratchet made her go on a diet that made her too thin.

I always wanted a sequel to Robots but sadly I highly doubt it will ever happen. However I wrote a fan fiction sequel to it and I've even done a live action fancast for the film. I'd love to see a live action version of Robots with humans where Bigweld Industries is a universal healthcare service but is then privatised by Ratchet. http://www.imdb.com/list/ls070344956/

RIP Robin Williams.
