Considering Going Veggie

So last night I had pork, beef and lamb plus I had a little bit of chicken at lunchtime. By bedtime I was feeling really really sick. When I woke up this morning (which was quite late with it being the last weekend in half term) I felt that I couldn't eat breakfast. I asked my mum if I could have a vegetarian day after eating virtually a farm worth of animal flesh yesterday. Being the kind loving person she is, she said yes. So tonight I'm having a margarita pizza :)

Ever since I was little I have thought about going vegetarian but deep down I had a feeling I'd never manage. However recently I have been reading about ethical reasons as to why people go veggie, I've also being reading about Veganism. To be honest I can see more reasons to be veggie than not. I've heard anti-vegetarian statements such as "by not eating meat you are not doing anything to stop slaughter". But thats called boycotting. If everyone boycotted meat (which won't happen) then farmers wouldn't see the point in killing animals for their meat so the meat industry would collapse.

I don't know if I will be a lacto-ovo-vegertarian (eats eggs and dairy but not meat and seafood) or a pescitarian (eats seafood but not meat). This is not a permanent decision but I'm considering it. Some may say that I'll miss meat but guess what there are so many alternatives out there. Long gone are the days of when the only veggie option in a restaurant was plain salad.

Some argue that meat has helped humans survive for centuries...

Not exactly true. I remember in a History lesson we looked at Pre-Historic bodies from Orkney and archeologists have discovered that the people ate little meat. Some Ancient Civilisations in the Indian sub-continent were Vegetarian and some are still today. A lot of East Asian cuisine has ancient vegetarian dishes and delicies. If my Vegetarian experiment worked really well and I managed to be one with no problems then I MIGHT MIGHT consider going vegan.

Whether or not my vegetarian diet will become permanent only the future knows. It may turn out that I start eating meat tomorrow. I just don't know. All I'm gonna say is I'm considering going veggie and I have no idea whether I'll be one for the rest of my life, until I have children, a couple of years, a few months, several weeks or just a few days.

Tofu, something I have never tried.

Makeup Tutorial: How to look like Belle

Belle is one of my favourite Disney Princesses, infact she may be my all time favourite so I thought I'd create a Belle inspired makeup tutorial.

This is how I did and you too can look like Belle:

1. Make sure you're face is covered with foundation, any blemishes are concealed and you're faced is brushed with loose powder. Blusher is optional.

2. Use yellow eyeshadow to cover you're eyelid.

3. Brush golden eye glitter to onto you're eyelid and then blend it in with the yellow.

4. Draw a thin line on the ptosis of you're eyelid with brown eyeliner.

5. Paint you're lips to be red like the roses in Beauty & The Beast.

6. Gloss you're lips with a red lipgloss.

7. And you're looking like Belle.

Makeup Tutorial: Midnight Cat

Are you attending a Superhero themed event where you plan to dress up as a cat woman or attending a nighttime party?

Well the Midnight Cat look might be for you.

1. Make sure you're face is covered with foundation, any blemishes are concealed and you're face is powdered.

2. Shadow you're eyelid with a dark blue.

3. Go over the dark blue with a black.

4. Brush silver on top of the current shade.

5. Finally add white to the eyelid. Each colour on the eye represents the context of makeup theme Dark blue: The midnight sky. Black: The cat's fur. Silver: Shiny like the  stars. White: The colour of the moon and the milk the cat drinks.

6. Draw a thick black line on the ptosis of you're eyelid.

7. Draw a thick flick in the outer corner of you're eye.

8. Outline you're lips with a pink lipliner.

9. Paint you're lips with a cosmic shade of pink.

10. Spread pink lipgloss over the cosmic pink lipstick. I chose pink because pink is the colour of a cat's nose.

11. And you're the purrfect midnight kitty.

Tuna Puffs

As I'd had crispy chilli beef, special fried rice, Singapore noodles and shredded seaweed for lunch, it was leftover from last night's Chinese takeaway. I didn't feel like eating a massive meal at dinner time so Mum made some tuna puffs. They are tasty and easy to make.

All you need is puff pastry, tuna in brine and cheddar cheese.

Here is how you can make them:

1. Roll puff pastry or if you buy jus-rol then it will be pre-rolled out.

2. Divide the pastry into six squares.

3. Mix up tuna with grated cheddar cheese in a bowl.

4. Add two teaspoonfuls of tuna to each square.

5. Use you're index finger or a pastry brush to cover the outlining pastry.

6. Fold the pastry over and press it down with you're index finger.

7. Paint the pastry with milk using the pastry brush (this makes the pastry golden brown).

8. Put the puffs in the oven for 10 minutes or a little longer so that they're nice and brown.

9. Dish them up, dig in and bon appetite.

How I achieved a doll inspired look

After watching some of Venus Angelic's videos I wanted to try and achieve a doll inspired look. Unfortunately I don't own her wonderful contact lenses. Nor am I very skilled at applying fake eyelashes. Back in April, with the makeup supplies I already owned I decided to try and create a doll look. Here is how you can copy mine:

1. Cover you're face with a natural foundation that is the colour of you're skintone.

2. Conceal any spots or blemishes.

3. This is optional but you can add a blusher to the apple of you're cheeks.

4. Brush a natural loose powder onto you're face.

5. I blended bronze coloured eye shadow with a white coloured one to create a natural flesh coloured shadow. You can do this or buy a flesh coloured eyeshadow. I made my eyes look nude.

6. Draw a line on you're eyelid using a black liquid eyeliner.

7. Use black mascara on you're upper and lower eyelashes.

8. Pat a little squirt of foundation on the right and left of you're lips. Don't cover the middle of you're lips with foundation.

9. Paint the middle of you're lips with red lipstick. Then cover them with a red lipgloss.

10. And you're all dolled up.

The doll look I achieved.

My Day in London

Today was a National Holiday in the UK. I travelled to London, and explored Camden market. The first thing that caught my eye there was a Rococo inspired necklace. I bought it and it is the most beautiful piece of jewellery I've ever seen.

By the time the beauty was purchased I became very hungry. I'd only had two sausages for brunch before I left my home. We looked around the food stalls of Camden Market and there was so much variety that I struggled to choose. There was so much variety and delicacies from different cuisines such as Ethiopian, Polish and Malaysian. I decided to have a meal from a stall that served Argentine beef burgers and steak sandwiches. I loved recieving free samples on a cocktail stick, the nicest free sample I tried was a French one that had chicken, spinach and cheese in it. Two other nice ones included a Turkish chicken kebab and an Indian naan bread. The jerk chicken sample I received was too dry for my liking. I like chicken to be moist.

I was going to have a gaucho burger but then I decided to have a steak sandwich instead. It was a beautiful grilled steak that was a thin cut. It lay on a small ciabatta role with roasted red peppers, basil leaves and a nice sauce. It came with chips (what we call fries in the UK) and ketchup. The steak sandwich was lovely. The only thing I didn't enjoy about my meal was the fact there were no proper sit down tables so I had to eat it while sitting down on a little wall. I didn't really eat my chips because they were nothing special.

After eating my steak sandwich we went to look at the other stalls of Camden. My favourite stalls were the ones that sold Victorian, Steampunk, Vintage and Gothic inspired clothing. I saw this really cute Victorian (perhaps it was Lolita inspired) inspired dress that I so badly wanted but I knew that I'd never be able to afford it. It had puffy short sleeves, I'd say it was calf length and it was cream coloured.

My visit to Irregular Choice was my first visit ever and I was absolutely memorised. I loved the products and the cute faux tiger head on the wall.

The cute poodle heels were my favourite product in the store.

If I won the lottery I'd purchase lots of products from Irregular Choice and other stalls/shops in Camden Market

Outside another shop I saw some lovely 1950s inspired dresses. Again if I had the money, I would one  or two.

I had a lovely time in Camden and I hadn't really being anywhere like it before. The previous times I've been to London I've either been to the South Bank, Kensington, Knightsbridge, Regents Park or Chinatown. Although I love learning about the past and the world around us I find that museums can be rather tiresome, I discovered this after visiting three main London museums (The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum and the British Museum). However when I walked round Camden I did not feel tired at all. I hope I can go back sometime and I'm still deciding whether I'm a country or a city person!

Goodnight my followers

Its Been A While!

Sorry that I haven't published an entry for a long time!

I've been back at school and tomorrow I'm re-sitting my GSCE English exam. I'm a little nervous but not as much as I was last week.

My stress levels have been a bit lower the past week or two. Finally I'm feeling as though I can relate to the Marilyn Monroe quote "The best time of my life is now".

I kinda forgot about this blog until I randomly remembered it the other day.
